We believe that a great athlete is a person who demonstrates great character along with a strong sense of discipline. This combined with athletic training helps prepare our athletes for the many future challenges of life.
EVENT SPECIFIC TRACK CLUB
Coach Rivera’s strengths lie in the 200, 400 and 800 meter races. 400m runners are very versatile and are often the utility athletes on a track team, being able to excel at various race distances.
FOCUS ON THE ATHLETE
Unlike many clubs which recruit runners from various schools, we are not recruiting the best from several schools. Our goal is to make our athletes excel, which is why we take only a specific number of athletes for very specific events.
ABOUT COACH RIVERA
Coach Rivera started running track in 5th grade, focusing mainly on the 400m and 800m distances. He was fortunate to be coached in high school by BIll Lewis, the father of legendary Olympians Carl and Carol Lewis.
The Gryphon was the mascot for Coach Rivera’s now defunct John F. Kennedy HS in Willingboro NJ. His high shool and their sister high school, Willingboro HS produced many Olympians, most notably Carl and Carol Lewis, Dennis Mitchell (whom Coach Rivera competed against) and countless others.
